Please note, pothole cases do not directly correlate to pothole defects because duplicate cases may be raised for one pothole and not all cases meet the intervention level to be a pothole defect.

Pothole Defects Repaired
*Please note that the figures from May 2016-April 2017 are not directly comparable.
During this time multiple ‘safety issue’ potholes that were located close together were logged as a single defect as they would be repaired together. However, since April 2017 each ‘safety issue’ pothole has been recorded separately to help us better understand the condition of our network.
The exact impact of this change is impossible to quantify, but the change would have led to a slight increase in the number of pothole defects recorded from April 2017 onwards.
**Please also note that figures from April 2023 – May 2023 are not directly comparable due to the start of the new contract and a change in systems.
