Volunteer Streets – Weed Maintenance
Residents and communities have the option to opt-out of the Council’s weed spraying programme and to undertake manual weed control themselves.
To be eligible, agreement from a minimum of 60% of the residents of the street is required and the resident volunteers commit to undertake weed removal and complete the following documentation and training below.
Applications will need to be received by End of February to take part in that year. If applications are received after this, they will be reviewed for the following year and standard weed maintenance will be carried out.
The below documents required can be found here. Please review all the documents needed to undertake Volunteer Streets – Weed Maintenance:
- Application Form
- Volunteer Streets Weed Maintenance Guide and Agreement
- Risk Assessment and Method Statement
- Training Video
- Declaration of Work Form
- On Site Work Form
Please note, to meet the requirements of the ESCC Insurance Provider these documents must be completed as outlined in the Guide and Agreement. This then ensures that you are covered by ESCC Insurance.
