We’re pleased to share that essential carriageway improvement works on the A271 Lower Horsebridge, Hailsham are now complete: ahead of the planned finish date.
The scheme included resurfacing, drainage maintenance, kerb repairs, high friction surfacing and refreshed road markings to improve safety and long-term road quality.
Ahead of construction, our team introduced vibration monitoring to help protect nearby properties, including several listed buildings. This allowed us to track typical traffic vibrations and ensure our work stayed within safe limits.
The team also carried out additional resurfacing on behalf of a nearby development, helping to avoid future disruption for residents
By working efficiently, the team completed the scheme one day earlier than planned - reducing impact for road users and supporting local businesses by reopening the road ahead of a busy Friday evening.
We’ve received some fantastic feedback from the local community:
“Firstly can I say what a fantastic and professional job your teams and contractors have made of the road improvements over the past two weeks. The coordination and planning was a joy to see from my experience running similar operations. Things are so much quieter now from the new road surface and lack of potholes. Your teams are to be commended too for their customer service. That was much appreciated and took away any stress. Please pass our thanks on to your people.”
We’d like to thank residents, businesses and everyone travelling through the area for their patience while these improvements were carried out.
