As part of our regular bridge inspections, we recently found a tree and other debris had become trapped inside one of the arches at Forest Row North Bridge.

The blockage was restricting the flow of water through the arch. If left untreated, this could have increased the risk of water backing up upstream or caused damage to the bridge structure over time.

To prevent any future problems, we carefully removed the tree and other obstructions from the waterway and safely disposed of it.

Acting early, helped restore the natural flow of water through the bridge and protected the structure from potential long‑term damage. This makes a big difference and helps keep the bridge safe and serviceable for years to come.

These types of preventative works are a key part of our routine bridge inspections and help us spot and deal with issues before they become more serious, keeping local routes safe and reliable for everyone.
