Efforts to protect livestock and public road users have recently been completed as essential maintenance on the cattle grids in Crowborough Road comes to an end.
As part of the work, the grids were removed and cleared of all accumulated debris beneath. This routine maintenance is vital to keeping the grids effective at preventing cattle from crossing onto the highway.
Crews also inspected and repaired nearby fencing and verge markers, strengthening the wider boundary system that helps keep livestock safely contained on the Ashdown Forest side of the road.
These improvements support both animal safety and road user protection, and we thank residents and motorists for their patience while the work took place.
