Recent improvement works have been completed on Riccards Lane, Wharlington, where the timber post‑and‑rail fencing and culvert had become worn and damaged over time.

To help keep this picturesque rural lane safe for everyone who uses it, the fencing has now been fully replaced with new, sturdy wooden rails. The refreshed boundary provides clear definition along the edge of the road and supports the long‑term condition of the route.

The works were carried out under a short road closure to ensure crews could work safely and efficiently, with access maintained for residents where possible.

We’d like to thank road users and the local community for their patience while the improvements were carried out.
