On Christmas day, we launched our "Twelve Days of Gritmas" campaign on social media, aiming to blend winter maintenance with a touch of festive cheer.
On Day 1, followers were greeted with “a gritter in a Christmas tree,” setting a lighthearted tone for what was to come. Over the following days, practical insights included “Three freezing forecasts,” “Five golden gritters,” and “Nine night-time runs,” highlighting both the operational readiness of the county’s fleet and essential safety measures.
The campaign is designed to raise awareness about the scale and responsiveness of the county’s winter road service – while fostering a festive sense of community.
Running from 25 December to 5 January, the "Twelve Days of Gritmas" marries important winter-preparedness messaging with seasonal engagement, reminding drivers to stay safe and vigilant as temperatures drop.
