The area around Hastings railway station has been transformed following a improvement scheme designed to make it easier and safer for people to travel through the area.
The project included new and relocated crossings, accessible kerbs, resurfaced roads and pavements, upgraded street lighting and targeted drainage improvements.
New Puffin crossings and upgraded traffic signals have created safer, wider crossing points for residents and rail passengers, while high-friction surfacing has been installed on steeper sections and sharper bends to improve safety for drivers and cyclists.
Speaking after the works finished, East Sussex County Council's Lead Member for Transport and Environment, Cllr Peter Griffiths, said:
"People walking to the station will find it easier and safer to do so using new crossing points across Devonshire Road and the entire area is looking refreshed and welcoming. I hope that those travelling into Hastings will be pleased with the upgrades and that they find accessing public transport here a pleasant experience."
Thank you to everyone for your patience while the works took place.
