The latest phase of improvements to Eastbourne town centre is now complete, helping create a safer, more welcoming route between the railway station and seafront.

The scheme has improved access for people walking, cycling and using public transport, while enhancing the look and feel of the town centre. Works included new paving, additional planting, improved street lighting, new seating and cycle parking.

As part of the project, Terminus Road between Bankers' Corner and Marks & Spencer has been pedestrianised, while two-way traffic flow has been introduced in Bolton Road and Langney Road.

Speaking after the completion of the works, East Sussex County Council's Lead Member for Transport and Environment, Cllr Peter Griffiths, said:

"This makes it easier and safer for people to access the town centre, will help encourage more visitors to Eastbourne and benefit the local economy."

The project builds on the earlier Victoria Place improvements, which transformed the southern section of Terminus Road and strengthened links between the seafront, station and town centre.

Thank you to residents, businesses and visitors for their patience while these improvements were carried out.
