We've successfully completed carriageway improvement works on Cornfield Road, Eastbourne, including new granite setts, kerbing, gully improvements, tactile paving replacements and paving block repairs
A key aim of the scheme was to improve the ramp profile, creating a smoother gradient that allows buses to pass through safely and prevent damage.
The works were completed ahead of the Eastbourne Airshow and were made possible through close collaboration with local bus companies, helping to minimise disruption while keeping people moving.
Our teams are returning on 29 September 2026, between 1am and 6am, to complete final road marking refreshments. These works are expected to cause little to no disruption for road users.
