Lewes Road Piddinghoe repairs

Following the collapse of a tree beside the footway on Lewes Road, Piddinghoe, a void formed within the embankment, causing a small landslip and damage to part of the pedestrian route.

To keep the public safe, we put in place a reduced speed limit and two-way temporary traffic lights. We then cleared overgrown vegetation and safely removed the fallen tree that had contributed to the slope's instability.

Once the area was prepared, levelling works were completed and a new retaining wall was built using pre-filled concrete bags. This helped stabilise the embankment and repair the damaged section of footway. This challenging issue has now been resolved, making the area more resilient and restoring a safe route for pedestrians.

Thank you for your patience while we delivered this work.
