The 1st May 2023 marks the start of the new seven-year, £297 million East Sussex Highways contract between Balfour Beatty Living Places and East Sussex County Council. This new contract will deliver the maintenance of the county’s roads, pavements, drainage, streetlights, traffic lights and bridges, as well as providing winter gritting services and delivering highway improvement schemes.
As part of service, a new Operational Control Hub will be established in East Sussex, using the latest technology and systems to monitor all highway activities in real-time, track progress of works and enable data-driven decision making to improve the highways service for the benefit of the local community.
