Please accept our sincere apologies should you have received a letter, prior to this, regarding the same set of works on Rocks Park Lane and Lashbrooks Road in Uckfield. The original letter did not contain important information about the phasing of these works and this supercedes any previous communication.
We’ll be carrying out jointing and crack repairs to the road surface in Rocks Park Road & Lashbrooks Road, Uckfield. Once complete these works will improve the condition of the road surface and help prevent water ingress.
We appreciate these works will cause disruption to residents, parents and carers surrounding school drop offs and collections, however this work forms part of our continuing improvement for the East Sussex highway network.
It is important to note that will be carrying out these works in phases so roads can remain open at certain times. Doing so allows us to maintain access for residents, and parents and/or carers, as required.
What does the work involve?
These works include carriageway joint repairs, targeted patch repairs and road markings. We will also be carrying out adjustments to the ironworks, including manholes and drainage gullies.
When do they start?
Work will be carried out between Tuesday 20 February and Tuesday 12 March. We will inform you of any changes to the dates or times via advanced warning signs on site.
We would also like to apologise that we are not working over the February half-term. Unfortunately the required availability of specialist contractors meant we were unable to schedule this over that specific week.
How will this impact highway users?
Our working hours will be between 7am and 7pm to minimise noise disruption for residents.
The team will work with increased sensitivity and consideration towards access to Rocks Park Primary School, and will limit louder activities in the vicinity of the school between 9:30am and 2:30pm.
Should residents require vehicle access to properties during these works, you will be able to arrange this with staff who will be available on site.Please bear in mind, there may be some delays whilst the area is made safe and your vehicle is escorted by site marshalls. Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.

Information for residents and businesses
Parking: If required, we will put out ‘no parking’ signs and cones on the site to advise where parking is restricted. Please avoid parking in these locations as it will delay our works.
Weather: All of these works are subject to favourable weather conditions, for example heavy rain may affect the progress of the works.
Properties close to the carriageway may experience a temporary disturbance as this can be a noisy process and those properties may also experience flashing lights and reversing sirens.
