Following a recent inspection and assessment by bridge engineers, we are having to put a 7.5 tonne weight limit on Gold Bridge (over the River Ouse) on the A272 east of Newick. This is now in place and is likely to remain for the foreseeable future, certainly until our bridge engineers have come up with a plan for remedial works / temporary support measures. Our bridge engineers will continue to monitor the bridge to ensure public safety. This will unfortunately mean a lengthy diversion via the A275 to Wych Cross and the A22 for those vehicles over 7.5t.
