Balfour Beatty is working in partnership with East Sussex County Council to manage the highways service across East Sussex. As part of this, we will be carrying out carriageway repairs on Top Road, Hooe.

These works will involve removing the current surface and relaying new flexible tarmac, which has a smooth finish.

When do they start?

Work will take place on Thursday 28 September between 9am and 3pm. We will inform you of any changes to the dates via advance warning signs on site.

How will this impact highway users?

Top Road will be closed with a diversion route in place via the B2095 Top Road, A259 Marsh Road, Wartling Road, A269 Standard Hill, High Street, The Green, Lower Street & vice versa.

Information for residents and businesses

If you need vehicle access during the closure, please discuss this with the team on site who will be happy to assist. Please bear in mind there will be delays while the area is made safe. We will always allow access for emergency vehicles.

Parking: We will put out ‘no parking’ signs and cones on the site, in phased sections to advise where parking is restricted. Please avoid parking in these locations as it will delay our works.

Weather: These works are subject to favorable weather conditions, for example heavy rain may affect the progress of the works.

Properties close to the works may experience a temporary disturbance as this can be a noisy process. We would like to take this opportunity to apologise for any inconvenience or disruption this work may cause, however this forms part of our continuing improvement for the East Sussex highway network.

Please let us know how we did by leaving feedback. Please note you will be redirected to the East Sussex County Council consultation website.
