Map showing location of the works area
Balfour Beatty is working in partnership with East Sussex County Council to manage the highways service across East Sussex. As part of this, we will be carrying out drainage repairs and site investigations in Station Road, Robertsbridge.
When do they start?
Wednesday 18 - Friday 20 October – We will be carrying out drainage works to remove an existing blocked channel and install a new drainage pipe and gully. This work will reduce the risk of flooding in the area and help keep traffic moving.
During these works, the road will remain open with temporary traffic signals between 8am and 4pm.
Overnight closures – We will also be carrying out site investigation works between the junction with High Street and the Bishops Lane junction. These are being carried out ahead of surfacing works which will be carried out at a later date.
The road will be closed to through traffic between 7pm and 6am. A divsersion route will be in place via A21 Johns Cross Road, North Trade Road, Brightling Road & vice versa. Carring out these works overnight allows us to reduce the impact on the travelling public.
The exact dates of these closures will be communicated via advanced warning signs on site, and via the East Sussex Highways social media channels. .
Information for residents and businesses
Parking: We will put out ‘no parking’ signs and cones on the site to advise where parking is restricted. Please avoid parking in these locations as it will delay our works.
Weather: All of these works are subject to favourable weather conditions, for example heavy rain may affect the progress of the works.
Properties close to the carriageway may experience a temporary disturbance as this can be a noisy process and those properties may experience flashing lights and reversing sirens.
We would like to take this opportunity to apologise in advance for any inconvenience or disruption this work may cause, however this forms part of our continuing improvement for the East Sussex highway network.
Please let us know how we did by leaving feedback. Please note you will be redirected to the East Sussex County Council consultation website.
