Spring Lane, Burwash - Drainage & Carriageway works

Map showing extent of works area and diversion route

Balfour Beatty is working in partnership with East Sussex County Council to manage the highways service across East Sussex. As part of this, we will be carrying out a drainage investigation, grass verge repairs, carriageway erosion repairs and bollard installation works on Spring Lane, Burwash.

Work will start on Monday 11 September and continue until Monday 25 September. We will be working between 7am and 7pm each day. We will inform you of any changes to the dates via advanced warning signs on site.

The impact on you
Spring Lane will be closed to through traffic from Witherenden Hill to A265 High Street between 7am and 7pm each day. There will be no weekend working and the road will re-open outside of working hours.

If you need vehicle access discuss this with the team on site to see if this is possible. Please bear in mind there will be delays whilst your vehicle is being escorted by site marshals.

We will endeavour to provide access for residents where it is safe to do so. We will always allow access for emergency vehicles. Pedestrian access will be maintained.

Diversion routes

Traffic will be diverted via Witherenden Hill, A265 & vice versa.

Phasing

The works will take place in the following phases:

Phase 1: The verges need to be reinstated and sections of the carriageway built back up to the correct level (map 1 below refers)

Phase 2: Further repairs and reinstatement of verges (map 2 below refers)

Phase 3: We will be reinstating verges and installing 2 new master bollards (map 3 below refers)

Parking: We will put out ‘no parking’ signs and cones on the site to advise where parking is restricted. Please avoid parking in these locations as it will delay our works.

Weather: All works are subject to favourable weather conditions, for example heavy rain may affect the progress of the works.

Please let us know how we did by leaving feedback. Please note you will be redirected to the East Sussex County Council consultation website.
