Map of works area and diversion route

Balfour Beatty is working in partnership with East Sussex County Council to manage the highways service across East Sussex. As part of this, we will be carring out carriageway works at the junction of Sedlescombe Road North and St Helens Road, St Leonards.

When do they start?

Work will be carried out between Monday 29 July and Saturday 3 August between 7am and 7pm.

We will inform you of any changes to the dates or times via advanced warning signs on site.

What are we doing?

These works involve repairing the mini roundabout and replacing road markings. We will be applying new High Friction Surfacing (HFS) and other road lining.

How will this impact highway users?

The team will be working at the mini roundabout at the junction of St Helen’s Road and Sedlescombe Road North.

Access to St Helens Road will be restricted for residents for the duration of works.

Traffic will be diverted via St Helens Road, Parkstone Road, Hillside Road, The Ridge, Junction Road, Sedlescombe Road North, St Helens Road and vice versa.

Sedlescombe Road North will remain open with temporary traffic lights in place.

Information for residents and businesses

Parking: If required, we will put out ‘no parking’ signs and cones on the site to advise where parking is restricted. Please avoid parking in these locations as it will delay our works.

Waste collection: Access to the closure will be granted for waste collection.

Weather: All of these works are subject to favourable weather conditions, for example heavy rain may affect the progress of the works.

Properties close to the carriageway may experience a temporary disturbance as this can be a noisy process and those properties may experience flashing lights and reversing sirens.

Permit Reference: EA222-MW0080LIGHTS-03
