Patching programme 2024-25

Patching works enables East Sussex Highways to focus on areas of the road network in most need of repair.

We use a variety of techniques including:

Jet patching- This is a quick and effective way of spraying an asphalt mix into a defect to repair it.

Cut-and-patch- This is where you mark and cut around the area of a defect and fill it with asphalt mix.

We choose which technique is most appropriate to ensure best value for money.

We identify patching sites using information from inspections and annual surveys.
