Map showing extent of works area and diversion route
Balfour Beatty is working in partnership with East Sussex County Council to manage the highways service across East Sussex. As part of this, we will be carrying out carriageway repairs on Old London Road, Hastings.
These works will involve removing the current surface and relaying new flexible tarmac, which has a very smooth finish.
When do they start?
Work will take place from Monday 2 October to Wednesday 4 October between 8pm and 6am. We will inform you of any changes to the dates via advanced warning signs on site.
How will this impact highway users?
Old London Road closed with a diversion route in place via Mount Pleasant Road, Queens Road, A259 Marine Parade, East Parade, The Bourne and vice versa.
Information for residents and businesses
If you need vehicle access during the closure, please discuss this with the team on site who will be happy to assist. Please bear in mind there will be delays while the area is made safe. We will always allow access for emergency vehicles.
Parking: We will put out ‘no parking’ signs and cones on the site, in phased sections to advise where parking is restricted. Please avoid parking in these locations as it will delay our works.
Weather: These works are subject to favorable weather conditions, for example heavy rain may affect the progress of the works.
Properties close to the works may experience a temporary disturbance as this can be a noisy process. We would like to take this opportunity to apologise for any inconvenience or disruption this work may cause, however this forms part of our continuing improvement for the East Sussex highway network.
Please let us know how we did by leaving feedback. Please note you will be redirected to the East Sussex County Council consultation website.
