Map showing works area and diversion route
Balfour Beatty is working in partnership with East Sussex County Council to manage the highways service across East Sussex. We will soon be carrying out drainage investigations on Nevill Road and New Road in Crowborough.
When do they start?
Work will be carried out on Tuesday 22 April and Wednesday 23 April 2025 between 9am to 4pm each day. We will inform you of any changes to the dates or times via advanced warning signs on site.
What are we doing?
We will be carrying out CCTV surveys of the underground drainage system, and using a high pressured water to clear the pipework.
How will this impact highway users?
The team will be working at two locations:
- New Road – from the junction of the A26 to the B2100 junction.
- Nevill Road – from the junction of the A26 to the B2100 junction.
During this work, the road will be closed to general traffic, with access maintained for residents only. Both closures will run consecutively. A diversion route will be in place via Park Road, A26, B2100 and vice versa.
If you need vehicle access to your property, please approach the closure point and speak to the site team. There may be a short wait while the area is made safe for you to pass, and you will need to be escorted by site marshals. Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.
Information for residents and businesses
Parking: If required, we will put out ‘no parking’ signs and cones on the site to advise where parking is restricted. Please avoid parking in these locations as it will delay our works.
Weather: All of these works are subject to favourable weather conditions, for example heavy rain may affect the progress of the works.
Waste collection: Access will be granted for any waste collection.
Public Transport: Local bus services have been informed of these works and will be diverted.
Properties close to the carriageway may notice some noise, flashing lights, or reversing sirens. We will do our utmost to keep this to a minimum.
