We'll soon be carrying out drainage investigations on Moat Lane, Westfield.
When do they start?
Works will be carried out on Tuesday 1 September and Wednesday 2 September 2026, 8am - 4:30pm.
We will inform you of any changes to the dates or times via advanced warning signs on site.
What are we doing?
Works involve carrying out CCTV surveys of the underground drainage system. We will also be clearing pipework with high-pressure water to remove any blockages.
How will this impact highway users?
We will be working between the junction of the A21 and Parsonage Lane.
The road will be closed to through traffic, with a signed diversion route in place via the A21, Bluemans Lane and vice versa.
For safety, access to properties within the works area will be limited and managed during our working hours. If you need access, please speak to the team on site. Please bear in mind, there could also be a delay while the area is made safe for you to pass and your vehicle may be escorted by site marshalls. This is for properties with direct access within the closure area only and there will be no through route.
Please be polite and respectful to the site team, they are working to keep everyone safe.
Information for residents and businesses
Noise: Properties close to the carriageway may notice some noise, flashing lights, or reversing sirens. We will do our best to keep this to a minimum.
Parking: If required, we will put out ‘no parking’ signs and cones on the site to advise where parking is restricted. Please avoid parking in these locations as it will delay our works.
Weather: All of these works are subject to favourable weather conditions, for example heavy rain may affect the progress of the works.
Properties close to the carriageway may experience a temporary disturbance as this can be a noisy process and those properties may experience flashing lights and reversing sirens.
