Map of works area
Balfour Beatty is working in partnership with East Sussex County Council to manage the highways service across East Sussex. As part of this, we will be carrying out drainage investigations on Merriments Lane, Hurst Green.
When do they start?
Work will be carried out on Monday 1 September between 8pm and 4am.
We will inform you of any changes to the dates or times via advanced warning signs on site.
What are we doing?
These works involve CCTV surveys of the underground drainage system. We will also be using high pressured water to clear the pipework.
How will this impact highway users?
We will be working from Hawkhurst Road to the entrance of Merriments Farm,
Access will be restricted for residents whilst the works are taking place with traffic diverted via the A229, The B2244 & vice versa.
If you need access, please approach the closure point and speak to the site team. This is for access only and there will be no through route. There may be a slight delay while we make it safe for you to pass, and your vehicle is escorted by site marshalls. Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times
Information for residents and businesses
Parking: If required, we will put out ‘no parking’ signs and cones on the site to advise where parking is restricted. Please avoid parking in these locations as it will delay our works.
Weather: All of these works are subject to favourable weather conditions, for example heavy rain may affect the progress of the works.
Waste collection: Access will be granted for any waste collection.
Public Transport: Local bus services have been informed of these works and will be diverted.
Properties close to the carriageway may experience a temporary disturbance as this can be a noisy process and those properties may experience flashing lights and reversing sirens.
Please let us know how we did by leaving feedback. Please note you will be redirected to the East Sussex County Council consultation website.
