Map of works area and diversion route
Balfour Beatty is working in partnership with East Sussex County Council to manage the highways service across East Sussex. As part of this, we will be carrying out carriageway repairs on Jury's Gap Road, Camber.
When do they start?
Work will be carried out from Sunday 29 March to Thursday 2 April 2026, between 8am and 6pm with the road closed 24 hours a day. We will inform you of any changes to the dates or times via advanced warning signs on site.
What are we doing?
These works involve essential targeted carriageway repairs to improve the overall condition.
How will this impact highway users?
We will be working between the Gate 3 entrance to the Lydd Ranges Military School to just past the Sussex county line. There will be no access at this location for the duration of these works.
Traffic will be diverted via Lydd Road, Camber Road, A259, B2075, Jurys Gap Road and vice versa.
Information for residents and businesses
Parking: If required, we will put out ‘no parking’ signs and cones on the site to advise where parking is restricted. Please avoid parking in these locations as it will delay our works.
Bus service: No buses will be able to use this route for the duration of these works and public transport are aware and are taking the appropriate action.
Waste collection: Waste collections are on a Monday and will not be able to be collected during this road closure.
Weather: All of these works are subject to favourable weather conditions, for example heavy rain may affect the progress of the works.
Properties close to the carriageway may experience a temporary disturbance as this can be a noisy process and those properties may experience flashing lights and reversing sirens.
We would like to take this opportunity to apologise in advance for any inconvenience or disruption this work may cause, however this forms part of our continuing improvement for the East Sussex highway network. Should you have any concerns regarding these works, you can contact us at eshcomms@balfourbeatty.com.
Please let us know how we did by leaving feedback. Please note you will be redirected to the East Sussex County Council consultation website.
