Map of works area

Map of works area

The work will be carried out from Thursday 3 April to Saturday 5 April 2025 between 7pm and 6am each night.

We will inform you of any changes to the dates or times via advanced warning signs which will be installed at the entrance to Harbour Road.

What are we doing?

The work involves essential repairs to improve the condition of the carriageway, including tarmac repairs and surfacing at the junctions.

How will this impact highway users?

The team will be working from the gateway sign approximately 150 metres from the Rye Wharf Business Park to the turning area near the public toilets and nature reserve. The road will be closed, with access maintained for residents.

We will be using ‘stop & go’ boards to keep everyone safe. Please follow instructions from the site team when approaching the working area. There may be a short wait while we make it safe for you to pass, and your vehicle will be escorted by site marshals.

Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.

We will soon be returning to carry out further carriageway works on Harbour Road, Rye, to improve the durability of the road.

Information for residents and businesses

Parking: If required, we will put out ‘no parking’ signs and cones on the site to advise where parking is restricted. Please avoid parking in these locations as it will delay our works.

Weather: All of these works are subject to favourable weather conditions, for example heavy rain may affect the progress of the works.

Properties close to the carriageway may experience a temporary disturbance as this can be a noisy process and those properties may experience flashing lights and reversing sirens.
