Map showing extent of works area and diversion route
Balfour Beatty is working in partnership with East Sussex County Council to manage the highways service across East Sussex. As part of this, we will be carrying out carriageway works on The Green, Ninfield.
Once completed, these works will help improve the condition of the road surface, and ensure a smoother and safer journey.
When do they start?
Work began on Monday 16 October and are due to continue until Wednesday 8 November. Regretably, we have extended the works period due to inclement weather and this causing unforeseen resource issues.
We will inform you of any changes to the dates or times via advanced warning signs on site.
Monday 23 October the road will be closed for surfacing
Tuesday 24 October the road will remain open with temporary traffic signals in place
Wednesday 25 October the road will be closed for surfacing and ironwork adjustments
Thursday 26 October the road will remain open with no works taking place
Friday 27 October the road will be closed for ironwork adjustments
Tuesday 7 November the road will be closed for lilning, road stud installation and High Friction Surfacing
How will this impact highway users?
We will be working between the junction with Manchester Road and the Kings Arms roundabout.
The road will be closed to through traffic between 7pm and 6am, however pedestrian access will be maintained. Traffic will be diverted via the A271, B2204 & vice versa.
If you need vehicle access during the closure, please discuss this with the team on site to see if this is possible. Please bear in mind there will be delays whilst the area is made safe and your vehicle is escorted by site marshalls.
Information for residents and businesses
Parking: We will put out ‘no parking’ signs and cones on the site to advise where parking is restricted. Please avoid parking in these locations as it will delay our works.
Weather: All of these works are subject to favourable weather conditions, for example heavy rain may affect the progress of the works.
We would like to take this opportunity to apologise in advance for any inconvenience or disruption this work may cause, however this forms part of our continuing improvement for the East Sussex highway network.
Please let us know how we did by leaving feedback. Please note you will be redirected to the East Sussex County Council consultation website.
