Map showing location of works

Balfour Beatty is working in partnership with East Sussex County Council to manage the highways service across East Sussex. As part of this, we will be carrying out footway repairs on Carlisle Road, Eastbourne.

When do they start?

Work will start on Friday 1 September and continue until Friday 24 November 2023.

We will be working between Meads Road and College Road.  The team on site will be able to provide the most up to date information on progress.

Please see overleaf for map of works area.

The road will remain open under temporary traffic signals between 7am and 7pm. The traffic signals will be manually controlled during peak hours.

Information for residents and businesses

While works are taking place sections of the footway will be closed to pedestrians and temporary traffic lights will be installed to provide alternative pedestrian walkways.

Parking: We will put out ‘no parking’ signs and cones on the site, in phased sections to advise where parking is restricted. Please avoid parking in these locations as it will delay our works.

Weather: All of these works are subject to favorable weather conditions, for example heavy rain may affect the progress of the works.

Properties close to the works may experience a temporary disturbance as this can be a noisy process. We would like to take this opportunity to apologise in advance for any inconvenience or disruption this work may cause.

Please let us know how we did by leaving feedback. Please note you will be redirected to the East Sussex County Council consultation website.
