Map of works area
Further to our previous letter, dated June 2024, we are writing to inform you that we will be returning to Brightling Road & Bishops Lane, Robertsbridge to carry out remedial works.
When do they start?
Work will be carried out from Tuesday 11 March 2025 to Thursday 13 March 2025 between 7pm and 5am.
We will inform you of any changes to the dates or times via advanced warning signs on site.
What are we doing?
Due to an unsatisfactory finish, we are returning to rectify the surfacing in the area.
We would like to apologise for any inconvenience this may cause, and we can assure you that we always intend to deliver right first time. These remedial works will be carried out at no cost to the taxpayer.
These works involve removing the current surface and replacing with new tarmac.
How will this impact highway users?
The team will be working in two locations:
Brightling Road: Between the junction of Bugsell Lane and the junction of Knelle Road. Access to the road will be restricted for the duration of the works. Traffic will be diverted via Mill Lane, Kings Hill Road, Bell Alley Road, A265, A21, The Clappers & vice versa.
Bishops Lane: Between the junction of Brightling Road and the junction of Heathfield Gardens. Access to the road will be restricted for the duration of the works. Traffic will be diverted via Heathfield Gardens, George Hill, Brightling Road & vice versa.
There are no plans for weekend working during these dates. If you need vehicle access, please discuss this with the team on site. Please bear in mind there will be delays whilst the area is made safe, and your vehicle is escorted by site marshals. Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.
Information for residents and businesses
Parking: If required, we will put out ‘no parking’ signs and cones on the site to advise where parking is restricted. Please avoid parking in these locations as it will delay our works.
Weather: All of these works are subject to favourable weather conditions, for example heavy rain may affect the progress of the works.
Properties close to the carriageway may experience a temporary disturbance as this can be a noisy process and those properties may experience flashing lights and reversing sirens.
