We’ll soon be carrying out carriageway repairs on Barrack Road, Bexhill to improve condition.
When do they start?
Work will take place from Monday 26 October to Friday 30 October 2026, between 8am and 4pm each day. It has been scheduled during half term to minimise disruption.
We will inform you of any changes to the dates or times via advanced warning signs on site.
How will this affect residents?
We will be carrying out repairs outside No. 20.
As these works require excavation of the carriageway, vehicle access between No. 20 and the end of the cul-de-sac will not be possible once work begins. Emergency vehicle access will be maintained at all times.
If you need to use your vehicle during the works, please move it from this section of road before work starts. Pedestrian access will be maintained throughout, and our site team will be happy to assist where needed.
To help us complete the repairs as quickly and safely as possible, please do not park outside No. 20 or adjacent properties. Vehicles causing an obstruction may need to be moved, which could delay the repairs and prolong disruption for residents.
We appreciate that these works may cause some inconvenience and thank you for your patience and cooperation while we carry out these essential repairs. If you have any questions or concerns, please speak to a member of the site team.
Information for residents and businesses
Weather: All of these works are subject to favourable weather conditions, for example heavy rain may affect the progress of the works.
Waste Collection: Please speak to your site team regarding your bin collection.
Properties close to the carriageway may notice some noise, flashing lights, or reversing sirens. We will do our utmost to keep this to a minimum.
We would like to take this opportunity to apologise in advance for any inconvenience or disruption this work may cause, however this forms part of our continuing improvement for the East Sussex highway network. Should you have any concerns regarding these works, you can contact us at eshcomms@balfourbeatty.com.
Please let us know how we did by leaving feedback. Please note you will be redirected to the East Sussex County Council consultation website.
