Map of works area
Further to our letter dated 7 October 2025, we’re writing to inform you that we’ll be returning to carry out the below works.
We were unable to complete this on our first visit due to resource availability. We apologise for the delay and any inconvenience caused.
When do they start?
Works will be carried out from Wednesday 7 January to Friday 16 January 2026 between 9:30am and 4pm. We will inform you of any changes to the dates or times via advanced warning signs on site.
What are we doing?
We will be installing new signs, posts and verge markers on the B2192 between Ringmer and Halland.
How will this impact highway users?
The work will be carried out in the below phases to minimise disruption to road users:
Phase 1 - Wednesday 7 January: The Broyle - between The Bluebell Inn and Shortgate Lane.
Phase 2 - Thursday 8 January: Terrible Down Road - Between Shortgate Lane and Knowle Lane.
Phase 3 - Friday 9 January and Monday 12 January: Lewes Road - between Knowle Road and the A22.
Phase 4 - Tuesday 13 January: New Road - at the Junction with the B2192
Phase 5 - Wednesday 14 January to Friday 16 January: Lewes Road - Between New Road and The Broyle.
The road will remain open with temporary traffic lights in place while the work is undertaken.
Information for residents and businesses
Parking: We will put out ‘no parking’ signs and cones on the site to advise where parking is restricted. Please avoid parking in these locations as it will delay our works.
Weather: All of these works are subject to favourable weather conditions, for example heavy rain may affect the progress of the works.
Properties close to the carriageway may experience a temporary disturbance as this can be a noisy process and those properties may experience flashing lights and reversing sirens.
We would like to take this opportunity to apologise in advance for any inconvenience or disruption this work may cause, however this forms part of our continuing improvement for the East Sussex highway network.
Please let us know how we did by leaving feedback. Please note you will be redirected to the East Sussex County Council consultation website.
