Maps of works areas

Balfour Beatty is working in partnership with East Sussex County Council to manage the highways service across East Sussex. As part of this, we will be carrying out carriageway works on the B2192 between Halland and Cross In Hand.

When do they start?

Work will be carried out from Monday 28 July to Wednesday 30 July 2025 between 9pm and 6am.

We will inform you of any changes to the dates or times via advanced warning signs on site.

What are we doing?

These works involve road marking refreshments and high friction surfacing (HFS) to reduce the risk of skidding.

How will this impact highway users?

We will be working in the below phases – please see overleaf for phasing maps:

Phase 1 - Heathfield Road, Halland: Between the A22 and Hay Barn Farm.

Phase 2 - Lewes Road, Framfield: Between Hay Barn Farm and Bushbury Lane.

Phase 3 - Lewes Road, Blackboys: Between Bushbury Lane and Stonebridge Lane.

During these phases, access will be restricted for residents for the duration of the works, with traffic diverted via the B2102, the A22 and vice versa.

Phase 4 - High Street, Cross in Hand : Between Fir Grove Road and the A267.

During this phase access will be restricted to residents for the duration of the works with traffic diverted via the A267, the A22 and vice versa.

For access, please approach the closure point and speak to the site team. This is for access only and there will be no through route. There may be a short delay while we make it safe for you to pass, and your vehicle will be escorted by site marshals. Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.

Information for residents and businesses

Parking: If required, we will put out ‘no parking’ signs and cones on the site to advise where parking is restricted. Please avoid parking in these locations as it will delay our works.

Waste collection: Access will be granted for waste collection.

Weather: All of these works are subject to favourable weather conditions, for example heavy rain may affect the progress of the works.

Public Transport: Local bus services have been informed of these works and will be diverted.

Properties close to the carriageway may experience a temporary disturbance as this can be a noisy process and those properties may experience flashing lights and reversing sirens.

We would like to take this opportunity to apologise in advance for any inconvenience or disruption this work may cause, however this forms part of our continuing improvement for the East Sussex highway network. Should you have any concerns regarding these works, you can contact us at eshcomms@balfourbeatty.com.

Please let us know how we did by leaving feedback. Please note you will be redirected to the East Sussex County Council consultation website.
