We’ll soon be carrying out carriageway works on the B2082 Iden Road, Iden.

Once completed, these works will improve the overall road condition.

When do they start?

Work will be carried out from Monday 26 October to Saturday 14 November 2026, 7pm - 6am each week night, finishing on Saturday 14 November at 6am.

We will inform you of any changes to the dates or times via advanced warning signs on site.

What are we doing?

These works involve carrying out repairs to strengthen sections of the road that have been affected by wear and tear, along with resurfacing works to help provide a smoother, more reliable journey for everyone using the route.

How will this impact highway users?

We’ll be working between the junctions of the A268 and Playden Lane.

The road will be closed to through traffic, with a signed diversion route in place via the A268, the A28 and vice versa.

For safety, access to properties within the works area will be limited and managed during our working hours. If you need access, please speak to the team on site, as arrangements and routes may change as work progresses.

Please bear in mind, there could also be a delay while the area is made safe for you to pass and your vehicle may be escorted by site marshalls. This is for properties with direct access within the closure area only and there will be no through route.

Please be polite and respectful to the site teams, they are working to keep everyone safe.

Information for residents and businesses

Buses: Any affected bus services have been informed and will be diverted.

Parking: If required, we will put out ‘no parking’ signs and cones on the site to advise where parking is restricted. Please avoid parking in these locations as it will delay our works.

Weather: All of these works are subject to favourable weather conditions, for example heavy rain may affect the progress of the works.

Properties close to the carriageway may experience a temporary disturbance as this can be a noisy process and those properties may experience flashing lights and reversing sirens.

We would like to take this opportunity to apologise in advance for any inconvenience or disruption this work may cause, however this forms part of our continuing improvement for the East Sussex highway network. Should you have any concerns regarding these works, you can contact us at eshcomms@balfourbeatty.com.

Please let us know how we did by leaving feedback. Please note you will be redirected to the East Sussex County Council consultation website.
