Map of works area and diversion route
We’ll soon be carrying out various structural works on the A2690 Combe Valley Way, Bexhill.
When do they start?
Work will be carried out from Tuesday 11 August to Tuesday 18 August 2026 between 8pm and 6am, week nights only.
What are we doing?
These works involve inspecting a number of bridges, ensuring they remain safe for motorists. We will also be carrying out repairs to damaged safety barriers.
How will this impact highway users?
We will be working in the following phases:
- 11 – 12 August, 8pm - 6am – 2- way temporary traffic lights between Haven Brook Avenue roundabout and Queensway.
- 12 – 13 August, 8pm – 6am – road closure between King Offa Way and London Road. Traffic will be diverted via the A2691, the A2036, the A259 and vice versa.
- 13 – 18 August, 8pm – 6am – 2- way temporary traffic lights from the railway bridge to approximately 300 metres West.
For safety, access to properties within the works area will be limited and managed during our working hours. If you need access, please speak to the team on site, as arrangements and routes may change as work progresses.
Please bear in mind, there could also be a delay while the area is made safe for you to pass and your vehicle may be escorted by site marshalls.
Please be polite and respectful to the site teams, they are working to keep everyone safe.
Information for residents and businesses
Parking: If required, we will put out ‘no parking’ signs and cones on the site to advise where parking is restricted. Please avoid parking in these locations as it will delay our works.
Weather: All of these works are subject to favourable weather conditions, for example heavy rain may affect the progress of the works.
Properties close to the carriageway may experience a temporary disturbance as this can be a noisy process and those properties may experience flashing lights and reversing sirens.
