Balfour Beatty is working in partnership with East Sussex County Council to manage the highways service across East Sussex. As part of this, we will be carrying out jointing repairs in A269 Standard Hill, Ninfield.

Once completed, these works will improve the condition of the road surface and prevent water ingress. These works are being carried out with the view to undertake further surface treatment in the future which will provide a uniform road surface.

When do they start?

4-11 March and 13-16 March: Works include carriageway joint repairs, ironwork adjustments to manholes and drainage gullies.

23- 26 April: Works consist of targeted carriageway patching.

Regrettably there are gaps in the above programme due to specialised resource requirements with limited availability. We are very sorry for any inconvenience this causes.

We will be returning at a later date to refresh the roadmarkings in this location. We will inform you of the dates and times via advanced warning signs on site.

How will this impact highway users?

The road will be closed between the hours of 7pm and 7am to minise noise disruption to residents. The team will be working between the junction of A271 Kitchenham Road and Coombe Lane.

Traffic will be diverted via A269, A2691, A2690, A259, A27, A22, A271 & vice versa.

If you need vehicle access, please discuss this with the team on site to see if this is possible. Please bear in mind, there will be delays whilst the area is made safe and your vehicle is escorted by site marshalls. Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times.

Information for residents and businesses

Parking: If required, we will put out ‘no parking’ signs and cones on the site to advise where parking is restricted. Please avoid parking in these locations as it will delay our works.

Weather: All of these works are subject to favourable weather conditions, for example heavy rain may affect the progress of the works.

Properties close to the carriageway may experience a temporary disturbance as this can be a noisy process and those properties may also experience flashing lights and reversing sirens.
