Map showing location of works and diversion route

Following our letter dated 14 March, we are writing to inform you that we will be returning to Farthing Lane, Ashburnham to replant vegetation after works took place earlier in the year

When do they start?

Work will take place from Monday 7 October 2024 to Friday 11 October 2024 between 9am and 3:30pm.

We will inform you of any changes to the dates or times via advanced warning signs on site.

What does the work involve?

These works involve excavating verges  and planting  new hedges and trees.

The vegetation stands a high chance of survival if planted at this time of year, than in the summer months.

How will this impact highway users?

The team will be working at Farthing Lane East culvert.

Access to the road will be restricted only for the duration of works. Traffic will be diverted via Herring's Road, Bluekiln Lane, and vice versa.

If you need vehicle access, please discuss this with the team on site. Please bear in mind there will be delays whilst the area is made safe and your vehicle is escorted by site marshals. Access to emergency vehciles will be maintained at all times.

Information for residents and businesses

Parking: If required, we will put out ‘no parking’ signs and cones on the site to advise where parking is restricted. Please avoid parking in these locations as it will delay our works.

Weather: All of these works are subject to favourable weather conditions, for example heavy rain may affect the progress of the works.

Properties close to the carriageway may experience a temporary disturbance as this can be a noisy process and those properties may experience flashing lights and reversing sirens.

Permit Reference: EA007HM-0193-02
